Life-saving, quick laptop fix, great value! Hard-drive replaced, all files recovered. Laptop was completely non-reponsive, not booting, now it's as speedy as it was 7 years ago when new. Very quick - they turned it around within 2-3 days (well worth paying the extra for the priority service), and good communication throughout. I have never used a computer shop before (I've always been a bit cynical) - and this is the first time I've had a major problem. It makes me wonder if I could have used them earlier! Money so well spent, and so good to a local shop where you can trust the people who are taking care of your equipment.
A small store for tech. Most stuff is cheap and outdated. Buying online is much better no matter what you need unless you can't wait for delivery. Understandable since tech develops so fast but you might as well go to the back section of WHSmith for what they offer here.
I explained that my repair extremely urgent and that I need to be kept updated. I was told that I'd have an answer in 2 hours but 2.5 hours later I hadn't heard anything - when I called they hadn't even looked at it yet. I then re-explained the urgency and still didn't hear anything back despite explicitly asking them to keep me updated, when I called back a second time they said they would ring my back in 10 minutes... they did not. I had to call an hour later and they still hadn't even looked at my laptop. Eventually I gave up and took the train into London to my office to get my spare laptop. I received a call the next day telling me that it can't be fixed. I don't mind if it can't be fixed - this isn't their problem but I asked many times to be kept updated and was repeatedly lied to - this is not acceptable.Moreover, when I finally went to pick it up I was charged an express fee - appalling. To top it all off, the man that served me was discourteous and obnoxious and didn't seem at all interested in helping me. He just stood at the counter eating a sandwich and didn't even bother to stop chewing before he muttered unhelpful instructions at me. I will never go back here.
