Lovely hotel. Nice grounds and rooms, decoration is stylish. As per every hotel though doors are noisey as hell and guests are inconsiderate. But the hotel staff are nice and helpful, they seem to cater for everything. I forgot my toothbrush and paste, but they had spares behind reception. Breakfast was tasty too!
Nice place but think they went a bit over the top with the interior which is set to be different in ever corner of the hotel. Good stuff, but a tad 'loud' as everything is quite colourful yet not matching. Room was nice but think they aimed to high and didn't really make it. Still, would use this again.
Went for our Christmas meal here so cannot comment on the rooms.Very nicely decorated for Christmas and looked as if some real effort has been put into it. Bar area was busy (I assume other Christmas parties were ongoing) but there was seating available for most which was comfortable and the service for the bar was reasonably fast despite it being crowded by 30+ people.Dining area doubled up as a dance floor and was very spacious. Food was delivered very quickly. May have been a bit hasty. I myself was missing a pigs in blanket and a stuffing ball judging by what others had. Potatoes were a bit hard also. Other than that it was a really nice meal. The butternut squash was sublime. Would like to return and experience it when it isn't so busy.
Very good all round with the exception of a cleaning matter. The room was lovely with comfy beds and pillows. The bathroom had a huge walk in shower. The full English breakfast was good too. The shower wasn't draining properly so I pulled up the plug and found hair and slime that must have been there for weeks!
More Fawlty Towers than four star, and not amusing in the slightest. The venue looks warn and tired and the staff looked as though they were working under duress. The food was of average quality and drinks at the bar were incredibly expensive. A pint of beer and a sparkling water left hardly any change from a crisp 10 note. Wanted to like, left disappointed. Shame.
